About Sent
How Sent started
Around a kitchen table in 1983. Here’s the rest, how we work and who leads us.
Our story
Four families and a kitchen table
In 1983, four families from four small churches met in the Morrisons’ kitchen. Each church wanted to send a missionary, and none of them could manage it alone. Together they could, and the first teacher left for West Africa the following spring.
Today about six hundred churches send around 320 workers through Sent. We handle training, logistics and care, so churches can focus on choosing, praying for and sending people well.
